ICMA Amobilife Final Event “Pursuing Perfect Journeys”, including Synaptic Round Table Event dedicated to “Seamless Door-to-Door Journeys for an Ageing Population” in Genk, BE, on 13th-15th March 2012

The ICMA Amobilife Final Event:  "Pursuing Perfect Journeys" will take place in Genk, 13-15th March 2012 and will be hosted by City of Genk and OCMW Genk at the impressive "C-Mine" Conference Centre. For the last three years the ICMA amobilife consortium has been implementing various door-to-door mobility solutions, in order to ensure seamless mobility for different target groups. The final event aims at synthesizing the results of the project as well as exploring the opportunities for transferring the implemented pilot actions to other North-West European cities.

Participating in the EU-funded Interreg IVB NWE mobility projects cluster "SYNAPTIC", the ICMA amobilife project will also host the SYNAPTIC Round Table on "Seamless Door-to-Door Journeys for an Ageing Population: the importance of mobility; managing demographic change"This Round Table will take place on 13th March 2012 and is integral part of the ICMA Amobilife Final Event.

The Round Table is aiming to raise and review European policy challenges which are build on existing transnational mobility projects and which will inform the new programming priorities for 2014 and beyond. The Event is designed to respond to selected strategic cross-sector issues identified in the Operational Programme, which include demographic change.

The Round Table is looking to attract around 25 key stakeholders, from different disciplines and with different perspectives. This project has a particular focus on bridging the mobility gaps at the beginning and end of journeys. This means that all participants and contributors are also automatically invited to attend the Final Event of the ICMA Project on Wednesday 14th March.

The Round Table will be moderated by Dr. Christine Brown Wilson of the University of Manchester. Present will be also Monique van Wortel, the Seconded National Expert of the European Commission, policy officer at the unit "Clean Transport, Urban Transport and Intelligent Transport Systems".

The Round Table takes place as one of a series of four SYNAPTIC events. SYNAPTIC stands for “Synergy of New Advanced Public Transport Solutions Improving Connectivity in North-West Europe”. It is an EU-Funded INTERREG IVB cluster of the four North-West European mobility projects RoCK, BAPTS, Sintropher and ICMA amobilife. It brings together 52 partners, from eight North-West European Countries with one common objective: to enhance the framework conditions for intermodality and seamless door-to-door journeys.

Registration will be open on 23rd of January,2012, through:  http://www.icma-mobilife.eu/
